Losing weight is no laughing matter. Each year more and more people are becoming overweight and it seems that the trend will go on in the years to come. Women have a more difficult time in dealing with being overweight and teenage girls are the ones who have the biggest problem with the condition. With the way that society has conditioned the minds of young people, they place great value on the way that a person looks. If a teenage girl is overweight she faces a more difficult time in dealing with people who are of her own age and how she sees herself.
To help the young people out there who might be having a difficult time because they are overweight, here are some tips on how to lose weight in 2 weeks for girls:
1. Support
A lot of girls might not have the help of their family who have their back when they decide to try out some weight loss program and that can be one reason why they fail. Talk to your parents and your siblings. Let them know why you want to lose weight. Ask for their assistance in regards to your food and the other things that you need to achieve your weight loss goals. Things will be a lot easier for you when you have your family backing you.
2. The Diet
Eating less is an important step that will take you far along the road of weight loss, but bear in mind that what you eat is just as important in your aim to lose weight just as what you do not eat. Processed foods, and fast foods are the things that you should stay away from. You can still have some snacks but you should choose the healthy ones. You can have some yogurt, or maybe some almonds instead of the usual choices that you get for snacks at fast food joints. Remember to reacquaint yourself with fruit. An apple is a great sweet snack that only has about 80 calories.
3. The Right Exercise
You have to realize that the path to real weight loss can be achieved by a combination of proper diet and full body exercises. Doing one without the other is not going to produce the best results that you want, especially if your goal is to lose 10 or more pounds in 2 weeks as a young but growing girl. Once you have a calorie deficit wherein the amount of calories that you burn is greater than the amount of calories that you take in then you are sure to lose the extra pounds.
All forms of exercises can burn off some weight and especially fat, it is just worth noting that some can burn more fat than the others and faster too. Weight training can help build muscles at the same time that it burns fat but aerobics exercises helps increase your heart rate which in turn causes more calories to be burned. For best results consult a fitness instructor for the right exercise routine that is fit for your body and that you will be able to follow. Some of my favourite exercises for girls wanting to lose weight in 2 weeks and beyond are tennis, walking, swimming, aerobic classes and spinning classes.
Give any of the above a try and I’m sure you’ll find one that you love. Remember, it’s not the most important goal that you choose the exercise that burns the most calories, but rather that you choose an exercise that you enjoy and that you can keep on doing for the long term. If you’re new to exercising, just try and exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes a time and then work up to 1 hour 3 times a week and then if you can go for 4 or 5 days as time permits.
4. Goals
It is possible to lose weight within a two week period, but don’t set goals that are on the unrealistic side. For example, to lose more than 10 pounds within that period will be very hard to achieve. Those plans that promise you more than that might involved doing something unhealthy.
Of course, if you only have 10 or so pounds to lose then you should look at around 2 pounds of weight loss per week as doing excellent. If you have say 50 pounds or more to lose then you might even be able to lose 7 to 10 pounds in that first week, but don’t expect that to continue. As long as you’re losing 1 to 3 pounds a week over the long term you’re doing great. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither did your weight build up quickly in just a few weeks. It took months to gain the weight so you have to allow yourself months to burn it off. Just stay consistent and if you fall down and binge eat then pick yourself up, don’t have a pity party and start up again. You can do it!
